Terms of Service

Last updated: Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025

These terms outline how you can engage with my therapy services, what to expect from our working relationship, and the boundaries that support ethical, safe practice. By booking or attending a session, you agree to these terms.

Who I work with

I work with adults (18+) across the UK. I offer online sessions (via Zoom) and in-person therapy on Mondays in Manchester.

My practice is a good fit for people navigating neurodivergence, trauma, burnout, identity shifts, or relational challenges. You don’t need a diagnosis to work with me.

I’m not able to offer therapy to:

  • Anyone under 18

  • Those experiencing active crisis or serious risk to self/others

  • Situations involving unmanaged addiction or complex, high-risk mental health needs

  • Anyone needing emergency, urgent, or out-of-hours support

If you're unsure whether my service is right for you, feel free to contact me for a free consultation.

What I offer

  • One-to-one psychotherapy for adults (online or in-person)

  • Monthly or flexible check-in sessions for existing/former clients

  • Pre- and post-diagnosis support for autism/ADHD (when appropriate)

  • Letters or reports (charged separately if agreed in advance)

I do not offer diagnostic assessments or formal medical reports.

Booking and communication

Most clients contact me through my website form or by email. We usually begin with a free 15–20 minute consultation.

Once we agree to work together, I’ll invite you to complete a short pre-assessment form and share my therapy agreement and consent form. Ongoing sessions are booked directly between us, and you’re welcome to ask for a regular or flexible rhythm.

Between sessions, you can contact me by email or (if agreed) WhatsApp for brief, practical matters like rescheduling. I aim to reply within 48 hours (sooner if time-sensitive). I don’t offer out-of-hours or crisis contact.

Fees and payment

  • Session fees are confirmed in writing before we begin. I currently accept payment by bank transfer only.

  • The first session is confirmed once payment is received

  • For ongoing work, payment is due within 48 hours of booking or at least 24 hours before the session

  • If payment is repeatedly delayed without communication, I may pause future sessions until we agree a more workable system

  • Letters, reports, or one-off admin time may incur a separate charge — we’ll always discuss this beforehand.

Cancellations and missed sessions

  • I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full

  • I make room for flexibility in exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden illness or bereavement), and we can talk this through if it applies

Confidentiality

Everything you share in therapy is treated as private and confidential.

I only break confidentiality if:

  • There’s a serious risk of harm to you or others

  • There’s a legal obligation to share information (e.g. terrorism, court order)

  • You give consent for me to liaise with another professional (e.g. GP)

  • I also discuss my work anonymously in clinical supervision, as part of ethical good practice. If I ever feel it may be helpful or necessary to contact another professional, I will always try to discuss it with you first, unless there is an urgent risk.

Technology and privacy

Online sessions are held via Zoom Pro. Sessions are not recorded, and are password-protected with a virtual waiting room.

All therapy notes are stored securely in Kiku, a UK-based, encrypted platform designed for therapists. Emails are managed via my business Gmail account. WhatsApp may be used for admin contact only, and always with your consent.

You can read my full privacy policy here for more detail on how your data is handled.

Emergencies and crisis support

I do not provide crisis support or emergency services. If you need urgent help between sessions, please contact your GP, NHS 111, Samaritans (116 123), or emergency services.

It’s important to have other supports in place alongside therapy. We can talk together about what that looks like for you.

Professional standards and complaints

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and my registration number 414145. I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, which guides my practice and professional conduct.

If you ever have a concern about our work together, I encourage you to raise it with me. I’m open to feedback and committed to repairing any ruptures where possible.

If you feel a formal complaint is needed, you can contact the BACP directly:
