Therapist for Trauma & Neurodivergence in Manchester & Online

My qualifications & experience

Stepping into therapy takes a lot of courage and trust.

You are the expert in your own life; no amount of training or experience a therapist has will ever change that. But I also know it can feel reassuring to know where a therapist’s training and expertise lie, and how they hold the responsibility of this work.

If you’re curious about the background and experience that shape my practice, you can explore that below.

My professional background

I have over 15 years of experience working across mental health and charity and third sector organisations, including domestic abuse services, community mental health, sexual health and wellbeing services for young people, sex worker advocacy, and online mental health support for people living with chronic illness.

I’ve supported survivors of domestic abuse and coercive control, worked with people navigating complex mental health needs across the lifespan, provided sexual health support to young people at risk of exploitation or harm, and, during the pandemic, offered mental health support across the full spectrum of sex work.

These experiences taught me to understand trauma as relational, systemic, and embodied - not just a list of symptoms. They shaped my commitment to non-pathologising, neurodivergence-affirming, intersectional feminist-informed practice, and deepened my humility: recognising the survival strategies, strength, and complexity people carry, even when they feel “too much” or “too broken.”

My commitment to your safety and care

I’m a registered member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework as part of how I hold this work with care and responsibility.

Ongoing learning is a central part of my practice. This includes continuing professional development (CPD) through specialist courses, workshops, reading, and reflective work. I actively seek out learning around identities, experiences, and communities where there may be gaps in my knowledge, with the aim that no client ever has to over-explain their experience just to be understood.

I also take part in regular supervision, a confidential space where I reflect on my practice with an experienced colleague to ensure I’m working safely, ethically, and in your best interests. I’m always happy to explain more about supervision if helpful, so you know how your privacy is protected.

Whenever you’re ready, here’s where to start.
